Rural Developement Inspections

    There are two types of these inspections!

    1. GNRH or Guaranteed Rural Housing, which is when a bank handles the loan. The bank is the client and not the homebuyer.

    2. Rural Development, when the USDA it'self handles the Rural Development loan at the Rural Development office.

    Number one takes a special one page form and is a shorter inspection. The focus is on weatherization, safety issues, structural integrity & plumbing, electrical and heating adequacy. It is not as complete as a regular home inspection. I recommend having a Home Inspection to give you detailed information about the home. The GNRH Inspection will not suffice for you alone!

    Number two takes a normal Pre-Purchase Home Inspection. They also usually require basements to be insulated at the ceiling or walls.
